Double Beef Burger with cheddar & sauce

Two layers, double the pleasure! The double-bottom bun from Select Bakery hosts two beef patties, cheddar, crispy lettuce, pickles, and creamy burger sauce.

Ingredients for 1 burger

  • 1 double-bottom bun Select Bakery
  • 200 g. ground beef
  • 2 slices of cheddar
  • 2 leaves of lettuce, chopped
  • 4–5 slices of pickles
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • A little olive oil for cooking

For the burger sauce

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • ½ tsp pickle juice
  • A pinch of smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauce ingredients until well combined.
  2. Divide the meat into two thin patties, slightly larger than the diameter of the bun, and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle well with a little olive oil. Cook the patties until fully cooked inside. Towards the end, add a slice of cheddar to each.
  4. Divide the bun into its three parts — base, middle slice, and top — and lightly toast the cut surfaces.
  5. Spread sauce on the base, add lettuce and the first patty with cheddar.
  6. Place the middle slice and repeat with sauce, lettuce, pickles, and the second patty.
  7. Close with the top and serve immediately.

Tip: Toast the middle slice on both sides to better hold the sauce and the juices of the filling.
