Pita Aristi with aromatic minced meat & oriental spices

The Aristi Pie from Select Bakery serves as the base for a delicious proposal with aromatic ground beef, tomato, and spices. It is served open, with onion, parsley, and lemon, or it can have a tempting layer of melted cheese.

Ingredients for 2 pies

  • 2 Aristi Pies Select Bakery
  • 200 g ground beef
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • ½ red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, grated and lightly drained
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

For serving

  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • A little fresh parsley
  • A little sumac
  • Slices of lemon

For the cheese version

  • 50 g grated mozzarella
  • ½ tomato, diced

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper until softened.
  2. Add the ground beef and break it up with a spatula until it is fine and fully cooked.
  3. Add the tomato paste, grated tomato, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the excess liquid evaporates and finish with the parsley.
  4. Divide the mixture over the Aristi Pies, leaving a small margin around the edges. On one, add the mozzarella.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 6–8 minutes, until the pies are heated through and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve the pie without cheese with red onion, parsley, sumac, and a few drops of lemon. Complete the cheese pie with the diced tomatoes and cut it into four pieces.

Tip: The filling should be juicy, without excess liquid, so that the pie maintains its texture.
